Google Cloud CDN Interconnect enables traffic from Google's edge network to third-party Content Delivery Network (CDN) providers via Google's Direct Peering link. Companies use CDN Interconnect to take advantage of Google's direct link to reduce latency in populating large data files on their selected CDN destinations.
Google Cloud CDN Interconnect supports CDN providers such as Akamai, Cloudflare, Fastly, and more.
While using CDN Interconnect delivers some form of acceleration, it still does not resolve code incompatibility in China. As a result, visitors accessing a website using Google Cloud CDN will encounter interaction and accessibility issues in China. Provided that Google Cloud CDN remains accessible - albeit non-performant - a China-specialised 3rd-party resource optimisation tool like Chinafy may be used to optimise the Google Cloud CDN for improved performance in China.
